In 2011 I was introduced to Yoga by my teacher Prema Karina Arenas Bonansea. She shared with me the practices of Kirtan, Nada Yoga, Yoga Asana, and Mantra. Later that year I began playing music with Prema for kirtans, workshops, and teacher trainings in Taiwan, and Canada. I am so fortunate and grateful to have had the association of her and her tutelage, which was a potent catalyst of inspiration to deepen my studies of Yoga. My Sincere Gratitude to you Prema ji.

In 2018 I decided to deepen my practice and dedicate my life to Yoga. In 2019 I enrolled in a 200hr Yoga teacher training program led by Dharma Shakti and Marleen Martin which was an absolutely beautiful and transformative experience. My sincere gratitude to both my teachers Dharma ji and Marleen ji, your teachings are invaluable. In 2023 I traveled to Rishikesh India, the birth place of Yoga for a 300hr teacher training program that emphasized on both Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles. In addition to teacher trainings, I have also been blessed to have taken workshops and retreats with both Raghunath Das (Ray Cappo) and Kaustubha Das .

I find practicing Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda to be priceless tools that inspire me to do and live better.

Currently I hold space as a Yoga Asana instructor at the Alpert Jewish Community Center, Yogalution Movement, Yoga On The Bluff, & Long Beach Rising. It is my honor to share the gift of Yoga with you. Thank you to everyone that has inspired me on this journey!

In gratitude,

~ Matthew
